Speech Therapy

Our speech therapists, Miss Alison, Miss Liz, and Miss Nichole, work with children who are experiencing language and communication disorders utilizing individualized treatment plans, engaging activities, and age-appropriate games to support functional language development.

We work closely with our families to set socially significant goals and provide carryover strategies so the family is able to continue to facilitate language in the home and community. There are hundreds of ways to build language into everyday routines and our SLP’s are happy to teach you how to access these opportunities!

In speech sessions children have so much fun they don’t even realize how hard they’re working! Our speech therapists first develop a strong rapport so they are able to focus on building skills our children have previously had difficulty learning. We support vocal communication as well as sign and gestural language, AAC devices, and/or PECS to truly support all of our learners develop the most appropriate means for effective communication.

Speech therapy supports children with cognitive or other developmental delays, weak oral muscles, articulation difficulties, autism, motor planning issues, hearing impairment, and receptive language disorders. A strong concentration is also placed on the pragmatics and social aspects of language to develop pro-social skills and effective social communication abilities.

Our speech therapists provide additional training and collaborate closely with your child’s ABA team and occupational therapist to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive treatment plan across all disciplines. Your child does not need to attend ABA therapy in order to receive speech therapy!
